The release marks the latest move by Ford to forge a more open collaborative bond with the wireless, consumer electronics and app developer communities to create a safer and smarter in-car connectivity experience. The first app partners include Pandora Internet radio, Stitcher smart radio, and Orangatame’s OpenBeak, with more to be announced soon. So.. I was at the gas station, filling up a new 2011 Ford F250 Super Duty Diesel for Chad when I had a chance encounter with Pat.  He struck up a conversation with me and, while we were chatting, happened to mention that his Mercury Mountaineer (I forgot to ask what year it is) has just over 344,000 miles on it. And, he drives it every day.

Of course I was impressed... so I asked if I could snap a picture and post it on my blog (yes I explained what a blog is.)  He said sure...so here he is.  His vehicle looks pretty darn good for that many miles.  And, yes, I verified the miles with my own eyes. Pretty impressive, eh?

Kim (seen here with her husband, Brian) is a Registered Nurse who helps bring new lives into this world. Yet, when she came in, her old car was sucking the life out of her because her air conditioner failed in our 100 degree weather. Make no mistake, her old Nissan Maxima served her well for 8 years and 160,000 miles. But, alas, it was time to move on.

When Kim and Brian came on the lot, the temperature outside was in the high 90's. We worked together to find just the right level of vehicle.. with lots of great technology.. and a trim level acceptable to her. Well, she picked up her brand new, 2010 Ford Fusion SEL today. And, yes.. it was icy cold in her new car.

Petra, as she requested to be called for this post, is a close friend who has been driving a 1995 Olds Achieva with 148,000 miles on it. She decided it was time to spice up her transportation a bit and came to look at Fords at Shawnee Mission Ford.

Petra was initially interested in the New Ford Fiesta ... though I figured her to be a Ford Fusion buyer. While escaping the heat via our showroom floor, Petra became very interested in a New 2010 Ford Focus she saw. Really it was the wheels and tires which caught her attention. And.. as you can see, that's what she ultimately ended up owning.
